The ONLY thing that fixed the install problems

Baleur Beta Tester Joined: Wed Dec 16, 2009 12:52 am Posts: 1	The ONLY thing that fixed the install problems The guides suggest uninstalling the patcher, or running it, restarting it, whatever. Well that's pretty hard to do if it doesnt bother even copying the files, now isn't it? 1. DEACTIVATE the service Hi-Res patcher blabla in your services window. 2. Right click your Hi-res installer .exe and choose properties. 3. In the general tab, i had a setting i've never seen in windows before, for any other application, no joke. It was at the very bottom and said something like "Suspect file origin, block this file" Uncheck that, hit okay or apply. Done. Now you can finally install the d* launcher. Unbelievably s* install system, i've been in dozens and dozens of betas and alphas, never been this awful. This is 2013, games should not need to be troubleshoot just to copy/extract a few bloody files to a specified folder. Massively bad first impressions, let's hope the game itself doesn't continue this tech-disaster trend.
